Schaumburg, Ill., August 3, 2022— The Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), your trusted source for neurosurgical education, is thrilled to announce that the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME®) has awarded the CNS Accreditation with Commendation as a provider of continuing medical education (CME) for physicians. Accreditation in the ACCME System seeks to assure the medical community and the public that the Congress of Neurological Surgeons delivers education that is relevant to clinicians’ needs, evidence-based, evaluated for its effectiveness, and independent of commercial influence.
CNS President Dr. Nicholas C. Bambakidis said, “This is truly remarkable for the CNS to be given such recognition and I am honored to be president of this organization. It takes hard work and commitment from both CNS staff and the neurosurgical faculty that develop the educational programming for CNS. CNS education has always been a trusted source for the neurosurgical community and this recognition makes me even more proud to stand behind CNS educational opportunities. Congratulations to all!”
The ACCME employs a rigorous process for evaluating institutions' CME programs according to standards that reflect the values of the educator community and aim to accelerate learning, inspire change, and champion improvement in healthcare. Through participation in accredited CME, clinicians and teams drive improvement in their practice and optimize the care, health, and wellness of their patients.
“To receive Accreditation with Commendation is truly a reflection of the CNS’ deep commitment to providing relevant and innovative educational programs and resources,” said Regina Shupak, CNS Chief Executive Officer. “I could not be more proud of the incredible team of CNS staff and neurosurgical professionals who invest countless hours to ensure every educational program the CNS produces meets the highest standards of excellence.”.
The CNS is honored to receive the six-year Accreditation with Commendation from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education.
