    Description

    From the deep gray matter of the brain, extending distally to the peripheral nerves, the anatomy of pain will be covered in this comprehensive review of surgical targets, beyond the spinal cord, for the treatment of chronic pain. Associated emerging technologies will also be discussed.

    Learning Objectives

    Upon completion of this symposium, participants will be able to:

    • Describe the anatomy of pain pathways from the peripheral nerves, to the DRG, to the spinal pathways, to the brain
    • Identify the brain and peripheral targets for chronic pain and data surrounding these targets
