    Description

    This morning guidelines sessions will present a critical overview of evidence-based guidelines for management of glioblastoma, including discussions of the role of surgery and the impact of extent of resection on overall management. The session will discuss potentially important adjuncts to the surgical management of glioblastoma including neuromonitoring and laser ablation. Finally, key thought leaders in neuro-oncology will review the merging field of personalized medicine and chemotherapy for glioblastoma.

    Learning Objectives

    Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:

    • Explain the role of and safe strategies for aggressive resection in the management of patients with glioblastoma
    • Critically analyze the literature supporting the use of laser ablation in the management of patients with glioblastoma
    • Critically assess the evolving field of personalized medicine and chemotherapy in the management of glioblastoma
