Schaumburg, Ill., November 17, 2025—CNS celebrates and congratulates the latest cohort of the CNS Leadership Institute who recently convened in Chicago, November 13-15, for a deep dive into critical healthcare leadership concepts. This most recent cohort is the tenth class of neurosurgeon leaders to assemble as part of this program originally founded in 2016 in collaboration with our founding partner Medtronic.
With their continued support, the CNS Leadership Institute has grown into a robust year-round surgical leadership curriculum to help neurosurgeons lead at every level of the organization and every stage of their careers
New this year, the Leadership Institute was expanded to include an Executive Leadership in Health Care Course designed for advanced career surgeons already in executive leadership roles within their institutions.
Alumni have gone on to lead important initiatives within their institutions as well as organized surgery, counting 16 Residency Program Directors, 3 Department Chairs, 4 Service Line leaders, and 13 current CNS Executive Committee members. More than 100 alumni are members of standing committees, joint committees, and editorial boards critical to neurosurgery.
In today's rapidly evolving healthcare landscape, it is crucial to have physician leaders advocating for patients. The CNS Leadership Institute is a 12-month leadership program, designed to empower neurosurgeons with the practical skills and business acumen they need to engage with hospital administrators and lead multi-disciplinary teams.
The CNS Leadership Institute curriculum has been carefully designed to help rising leaders in the field understand diverse perspectives, communicate across all levels of the organization, effectively lead multidisciplinary teams, and advance critical projects within their own institutions.
Applications for the 2026 Leadership Institute will open early next year. To be added to our contact list for the application launch, please contact CNS.
