  • Announcing New Offerings at the 2019 Congress of Neurological Surgeons Annual Meeting

    Schaumburg, Illinois, August 28, 2019—The Congress of Neurological Surgeons invites neurosurgeons, advanced practice providers, health care advocates, and other leading medical professionals from around the globe to San Francisco on October 19–23 for the 2019 CNS Annual Meeting. A number of new meeting features and experiences will be unveiled this year, including:

    Symposia Expansion
    The 2019 CNS Annual Meeting is introducing intensive, subspecialty Symposia in place of historical Practical Courses. These expanded offerings provide the forum for a full-day, in-depth treatment of a subject matter, including industry-sponsored breakout sessions.

    Morbidity and Mortality Symposia
    The CNS has recruited outstanding faculty with expertise in quality and process improvement to review member-submitted cases. Case review will be anonymous and focus on opportunities to enhance practice and clinical care. Attendees whose institutions do not offer Morbidity and Mortality conferences and take advantage of one of two symposia offered this year.

    Hands-on Cadaver Experiences
    Attendees will gain firsthand experience with the latest in industry partner technology with Hands-on Cadaver Experiences, as they explore opportunities to introduce new techniques into their practices.

    International Symposia
    International experts in brain tumor surgery, cerebrovascular surgery, and functional and stereotactic surgery will come together to provide novel surgical insights to a diverse global audience.

    Interactive Multimedia Presentations
    Interactive Multimedia Research Presentations will provide an enhanced opportunity to learn about cutting-edge clinical and scientific research. Top abstract authors will highlight their work through mini oral presentations given from presentation stages located throughout the session.

    Advanced Endoscopic and Exoscopic Neurosurgery Seminar
    The use of minimally invasive approaches is becoming more prevalent with new visualization tool, including both endo- and exo-scopes. This seminar will feature high-impact neurosurgeons providing in-depth exploration of cutting-edge technology and strategy employing endo- and exoscopic visualization.

    Xperience Lounge Wellness Initiatives
    Attendees will focus on wellness with this new afternoon of mind and body health discovery. Attendees will enjoy Voices of Neurosurgery: The Unforgettable Moments, a unique storytelling session; insights and a book signing with Dr. Gary Simonds, author of “The Thriving Physician: How to Avoid Burnout by Choosing Resilience Throughout Your Medical Career;” and healthy drinks, snacks, and special giveaways.
